B. SURENDER MOHAN,CMD ,NEYVELI,INAUGRATES VERMICOMPOST-ECO FRIENDLY ORGANIC MATURE UNIT
B. Surender Mohan, CMD today (18-03-2015) inaugurated the Vermicompost- eco-friendly Organic Manure Unit at Neyveli.
In a small function held at Block-16, Amaravathy Nursery, today, 18-03-2015, Shri. B.Surender Mohan, CMD, NLC inaugurated the vermicompost plant and started the sales of this eco-friendly manure, to the public. Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the efforts taken by the horticulture Department, and this unit will be of greater use to develop green belt in an eco-friendly manner.
Vermicomposting is the process of using worms and micro-organisms to turn kitchen waste, all biological waste into a black, earthy smelling, nutrient rich humus. Usually red wigglers, white worms and other earthworms create a heterogeneous mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste.
These worm castings, combined with partially processed organic matter, form vermicompost. It is nature’s best organic fertilizer.It is rich in nutrients and in microbial life which converts nutrients already present in the soil into plant-available forms. One of the main advantages of vermicompost is it can reduce global warming. This vermicompost is available in 2/5kg packets costing Rs.10/25.
In another function, CMD inaugurated a kitchen cum dining hall, constructed at a cost of Rs.30 Lakhs at CISF fire unit. This building was made ready on fast-track.
He also inaugurated newly constructed auditorium for the Neyveli ladies club at a total cost of Rs.21.00 lakhs. While speaking on the occasion Smt.Swarnakumari Surender Mohan, President, Neyveli Ladies Club, thanked the NLC Management for this gesture.
